Being Strategic

Plan for Success; Out-Think Your Competitors; Stay Ahead of Change

Erika Andersen

St. Martin’s Press, August 2010

Talk of strategy abounds in business AND in life, and grows more common every day as the technology charged environment demands rapid change from us all. But enormous gaps remain between talking or creating strategy and actually being strategic.

Author and executive coach Erika Andersen offers a roadmap for consistently making choices that move you toward your goals, both in business and life. Being Strategic is based on Andersen’s work with today’s top leaders and shows how everyone can make strategy a part of their everyday lives. The book will be released in paperback in August along with a public television special based on the book and featuring Andersen herself.

“I’ve come to believe,” writes Andersen, “that almost anyone can improve his or her ability to think strategically — and reap the personal and professional rewards that follow.” The book provides simple models, real-life examples and self-directed activities for making strategic thinking a skill, and eventually, a habit.
