LEADING WITH CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE
by David Livermore

October, 2009
The global economy has become a reality in today's business world with a growing number of Americans called upon to work beyond our country's borders. Whether a collaborator across the world or a sales call four time zones away, today's marketplace has become truly international and the best leaders will be those that thrive when managing across cultures and landscapes.
LEADING WITH CULTURAL INTELLIGENCE by David Livermore breaks new ground, offering today's global workforce a specific, four-part plan to become more adept at managing across cultures. More than just a handbook of tips on navigating local customs and practices, Livermore, a veteran of countless international consulting assignments and mission trips, takes a close look at what it really takes to flourish in unfamiliar surroundings.
"The opportunity to see the world firsthand and interact with people from around the planet has never been more possible," writes Livermore. "With a stronger ability to function effectively across national, ethnic, and organizational cultures, we can engage in our rapidly shrinking world with an underlying sense of mutual respect and dignity for people everywhere."
This book cracks open the international experience, urging readers to consider their own interest level, knowledge, strategy and action plan for tackling the leadership challenges that await us abroad. Further, it offers a prescriptive plan to bring higher cultural intelligence into your organization, increasing the business opportunities ahead.
