Melanie DeNardo

Publicity Director

Melanie DeNardo has spent nearly two decades helping bestselling authors, CEOs, public officials, academics, journalists, and thought leaders bring their ideas to national audiences. Before joining Cave Henricks Communications, she held senior publicity and communications roles at Hilsinger-Mendelson, Amazon, Penguin Random House, Henry Holt & Company, and Crown Publishers.

She has worked with influential voices including Dr. David A. Kessler, Suzy Welch, Yuval Noah Harari, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Glenn Greenwald, David Novak, Miriam Vogel, and psychologist Lisa Damour, whose national media presence she helped expand through a long-running contributor role on CBS Mornings.

Her campaigns have helped launch influential books including #1 New York Times bestseller 21 Lessons for the 21st Century, by Yuval Noah Harari; New York Times bestseller Diet, Drugs, and Dopamine, by former FDA Commissioner and White House Chief Science Officer Dr. David A. Kessler; Becoming You, Suzy Welch; Governing the Machine, by Miriam Vogel, Paul Dongha, and Ray Eitel-Porter; New York Times bestseller A Fighting Chance, by Senator Elizabeth Warren; New York Times bestseller No Place to Hide, by Glenn Greenwald; The Education of an Accidental CEO, by former YUM! While leading communications for Amazon’s books division, Melanie oversaw communications for Amazon Books Editors, the Amazon Literary Partnership, Kindle Direct Publishing, and Kindle Unlimited. She developed new communications initiatives, secured recurring national television partnerships, and collaborated with senior leadership to shape messaging around some of the company’s most visible publishing programs.

Having led campaigns from both the publishing and corporate communications sides of the industry, Melanie brings a rare perspective to launching books, building author platforms, and connecting important ideas with national audiences. A communications strategist at heart, she is known for identifying the strongest narrative within every book and building campaigns that meet readers where they are—whether through legacy media, influential newsletters, podcasts, or creator communities. She has secured coverage across The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, CBS Mornings, NBC Today, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, PBS NewsHour, Fortune, Fast Company, and many other leading national outlets.

Melanie graduated from The College of Wooster with a degree in English and a minor in Political Science. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and daughter.

When she’s not working on books, she’s usually reading one. She loves to run and spend time with her family and friends.
